What is Functional Fitness?
Functional fitness is an extremely beneficial concept which focuses on performing exercises that mimic everyday activities (lifting objects, climbing stairs). When you become fitter and stronger at performing functional exercises, day to day life feels easier and your risk of injury is reduced. While this may not sound like a fun class, Fitness Quest will be planning different challenges each week to keep your mind and body guessing. A short, sharp, 30 minute class that'll get your muscles working, heart pumping and sweat pouring. Don't expect for this to be an easy class... After all, sitting down is a squat, falling down and getting back up is a burpee and lifting an object is a deadlift. As always, you'll be coached through safe and effective technique and modifications/alternative exercises will always be an option.
Here's an example of what type of challenge you could expect...
In 20 minutes complete as many rounds as possible of:
8 tricep dips
20 step ups
